I would go with 2.5" for now and get dump pipes when going FI..IMHO.

maximumsportz (i think) posted a vid of this exhaust when he was N/a. But that was AWHILE ago...

Also it's overkill for N/A purposes, but if you can deal with the lack of the low end till your F/I, its a wise choice in the long run.

Well let's say you get any exhaust, like the borla. You'll get great gains while N/a but once you get the APS twin, it'll become a liability depending on your HP goals. How soon you'll get the turbo kit, i wouldn't know, but eventually you're going to replace it. Going with the APS 3" now will save you money later on.

But again don't expect to gain much, you'll lose some low and midrange torque..

Once the twins are installed, it's a different story

The APS 3" exhaust is overkill unless you plan on building the motor and having over 600 whp. The APS 2.5" will be much better suited to you and should flow enough for 600whp+. If you get the 3" on a NA car you will more than likely feel a noticeable torque loss off the line. Again the 3" is for those that are going for really high hp cars...

well like i said be4 i want to put in the APS TT setup and mod the crap outta my Z. i wanna end up at around 600HP. this is were i first got interested in doing this. he has a 2.5" exhaust and he's pushin 600 but then i saw the 3" exhaust and thought it might be better with the TT kit down the road.

Few people have achieved over 600whp on the APS TT kit. I hope you realize that his engine is completely built and what it takes to achieve those kinds of numbers. As I've said before the 2.5" should flow up to 600whp+. Anything more than that will require the 3" inch exhaust, which is overkill in 99% of the cases. If your looking to achieve 600hp..thats about 500whp.

ya 500 still sounds nice....and i will probably end up getting the 2.5" theres a place about 3 hours away from my city that does APS sales so i'll probably end up having them decide whats best for my car...appreciate the help.

I heard one the other day out of a TT Z with this exhaust. Sounded pretty good but at high RPM's it got kinda raspy... which was good because it covered the sound of the turbo so it did work in his advantage. There are two with this in my area. I haven't heard the other one yet so I dunno if this would be the same on all applications

we stock both, the 3" will result in the best over all gains for the TT kit, but is loud. i also have the extreme 3" APS downpipes to match. for over all performance and drive ability, both NA and TT the 2.5 system will be your best bet, but the 2.5 is very quiet with the TT kit. its really a personal decision. ether way you cant beat the APS Quality.
