Because of the way it sounds, deeper stock note. 9 lbs off stock weigh, and QUALITY that comes behind the brand! =)

Why would you need to weld it? How are you going to take off the exhaust? It's fine w/ the clamps - I just took the muffler off last week to install my sway bars. If you weld it, that probably wouldn't be possible. The sound is deep- it changes the sound of the stock VQ. There's a slight drone at low rpms but nothing annoying. At WOT it sounds mean. I've had it for almost 9k miles - not one problem with leaking or whatever people say Borla has. Just make sure you tighten all the clamps and you should be good to go. As for power gains - like any exhaust, even if you spend 2k on it, you're not going to feel 5hp. From there, it's all about looks/sound/weight/name.

You know some people dont buy exhaust for power. A little weight savings here and there, but mostly people buy exhaust for the sound they get when WOT. Like Bugs says, no matter how much you spend on an exhaust. The power differences are always going to be small on an N/A car.

I'm glad this post is here.....

I am looking to purchase one of these systems...

I like the sound of the Nismo slightly better than the Borla. From what Ive read, the HP gains of the Borla of 14 higher than the Nismo, for basically the same price. My question is, is that 14HP noticeable or not really.

Thanx

It's not noticable because it's not 14HP. I think the Borla would provide better gains overall but neither produce noticable gains. The Borla is a few lbs lighter than the Nismo, it does push more air, and it also moves the powerband towards the top-end a bit. But neither exhaust will feel like you did anything other than change the exhaust tone.

Almost all of the claimed hp gain will be between 4000-6500 rpm range. Your best best for hp gain is to couple the system with high flow cats. Also, make sure the system is a TRUE-THROUGH system, meaning, if they claim 2.5" ID pipes, that it is unobstructed 2.5" ID from beginning to end.

Asking this question will get you a lot of bullsh1t responses and people who don't know what they're talking about. There's only ONE source for finding out how much power a bolt-on gives you: a before and after dyno. Search for dynos and if they're out there, you'll find them.
^^

Refer to the text in red.

Do you have a before and after dyno that shows borla's 16hp gain?

I bought the Nismo for the looks and sound mostly... I highly doubt there is a huge difference between gains but whatever.

I'll be dynoing soon.

Im sorry if I offened anyone.......I want asking how much HP either had, etc. I was asking a question of whether or not a 14HP gain would be noticeable at all, based on the manufactures' claim. Based soley on sound, I prefer the Nismo.
