Intake Exhaust Moving all that air in and out efficiently

This may be a dumb question but how do you keep water out of your intake?

Im referring to those of you on this site that have that air duct installed in your bumper. It looks pretty nice but seems illogical for a daily driver. Im assuming that airduct goes right to where the intake is right? So lets say you are at a brushless carwash and water sprays up into the duct....ur screwed right?

i have the hydrofilter on my injen cai

http://www.intensepower.com/inhyshpr.html

you pretty much need to be in over a foot of water to be in any danger anyway though...the filter has to basically be submerged in water to suck it up...anything short of a monsoon, you'll be fine...i just got the hydrofilter for a little extra security

+1 I know all about sucking water into the engine on a 350z, lets just say no air duct, or cold air intake for me ever again...

I think there is some exaggeration here. The likelihood that you'd get water into the motor is super slim.

If you are concerned about the varis air duct and water then just don't do it. Simple.

i actually drove in a huge downpour and my engine shut down in a parking lot...i thought i hydrolocked the engine, but it turns out that the water covered the whole filter and starved the engine of air and it shut down before it sucked up water anyway (the silicone tubing closed up due to the vacuum created)...i have no fear of sucking up water...i have the injen cai, which has a pretty low placement for the filter

No problem with car washes or driving in the rain.
Just avoid large puddles!

in order to hydrolock yer engine the air filter must be submerged in water. whether its an inch of it or the whole thing. i had to get out of my friends spec-v and push it through 10 inches of water cuz he has the AEM cool air and it sites lower than the center cap of his wheel!

That's why you install the bypass valve.
