i suspect it would be from longer more straight threw piping. I couldnt say for sure, it could be a more efficient exhaust system. Meaning better headers, better cats that flow more freely there for producing more sound with the extra flow. Ive heard if you add test pipes or high flow cats to the Z on stock exhaust is sounds more like the g35, but that is just hear say.

They're exactly same as OEM 350Z exhaust parts wise. They do sound louder and better because of they're longer by 6". That's why Performance Nissan sells 6" extension for any G35 owners wanting to install 350Z exhausts.

The G has true-dual exhaust.

Edit: The new G(s)

Where the hell did you hear that from? I've seen G35 exhausts before, they use Y-pipe>mid>muffler like the Z's

i really like the tone of the G. It sounds much nicer than the Z's IMO. Its funny how a sport coupe's exhaust can sound more louder and aggressive than a sports car's.

The mufflers are the same, with the exception of the tip length...the G has a longer tip.

The center section on the Z is shorter, for obvious reasons.

The Z has a higher pitched tone, due to the shorter length, and opposite, the G is lower for the extended length.
