Default catalytic converter question.

I have a friend that is tehcnically giving me his nismo exhuast with the trade of my stock exhuast. The one problem is that his catalytic converter is pretty scrapped up bad. I dont know much about any of that stuff. can someone fill me in and how how much it would cost to repair it?

thanks

Why trade converters. Keep the ones that you have.

Its all good. This forum is filled with photos under the car. Search and study. You will figure out what goes where.

The part you're thinking is scvraped up, then, may not be the cat; you may be thinking of the braided flex-pipe sections of the Y-pipe of the exhaust. Some of them get scraped up pretty bad on lowered cars, but the braided part is just a covering over the actual flex-pipe, so it'll be fine, if that's what it is.

That's The Flex Pipe. Not The Catalytic Converter

There are two catalytic converters, and the Nismo exhaust does not include the cats. What are you talking about.

LMFAO
that is part of the Y-pipe, genius. Unless there is a leak, you will be fine.

Flex pipe will endure a lot of abuse. Its designed to do so. If it is not leaking, leave it alone.

You can't just buy a 'nismo' flex pipe. You can either get it fixed at an exhaust shop, or get a new y-pipe.
