Intake Exhaust Moving all that air in and out efficiently

Performance oriented exhausts. Too many potential bad choices.

I went with the TurboXS exhaust and have been very pleased with it. I had great results with that company with my Subaru and expected the same. Great sound, I felt a difference, and cost wise it was feasible. Buy used and save some dough.

Any alternatives you think to a Borla that yields the same postive gains but with a different sound? HKS looks really nice.. I am not sure on its' performance though.

I had near zero acceleration power. I put the stock exhaust and stock air box back on the truck.. and voila I had my torque back. I am somewhat confused/want to know more about correct pipe sizing needed for the horsepower the car has stock to notice the most gains. I am sure if I did alot of engine work to my tahoe back then... the larger diameter piping would of benefited me throughout the powerband, but in the case I had no mods besides those and had a huge loss. I hope this is making sense.
DO you have before and after dynos'? Do you have before and after slips? No most likely......the butt dyno isnt an accurate measure of anything

Back pressure for street driving might be more linked to throttle response than anything else and in low mod NA situations there may be a perciveable loss in response but not realy much loss in power to say OMG I lost power

WHen I ran at the track I would run OPEN HEADER and always went FASTER.....no restriction and max flow....dyno showed a nice hump of extra power going open header and the slips reflected it

On the street it felt soggy -----WOT it made more power and went faster

I wouldnt reccomend running open header on a Z on the street but you get the idea about back pressure.....a properly tuned exhaust will make more power than open BUT your talking tuned to perfection and tons of man hours sizing it PERFECTLY for the exact power and flow THAT motor is putting out

ONe motor may like a certain combo better than another......which means lots of dyno time for THAT combo of parts.....if you change one thing the exhaust must be retuned for that new combo

NA is about the parts working together.....once you have ALL your NA mods done is when you can fine tune the exhaust.......it sucks but in realilty you can buy a small exhaust now to maintain great response on the street now and then go custom once you finish your engine mods and have an exhaust tuned for you by guys like Hytech.....it wont be cheap but it will make the most power for YOUR setup

+1 I felt the higher RPMS were a lot smoother when I installed this exhaust. I believe there was a dyno by MRC that showed gains throughout the powerband.

Awesome sound too!

Trust me, my tahoe was DEAD on power when I had the exhaust and the air filter. A mother in a caravan filled with kids passed me on a highway and I was flooring it LOL

The problem with your tahoe might have been you were running lean. It seems without recalibrating for added airflow newer cars lose power. Its funny because you add potential airflow but lose power. I had a wrx and after a cat back exhaust the car lost power all over. needed a reflash.

+1, as with everything in life, there is the ever present law of deminishing returns. Otherwise we'd be seeing 5" open exhausts and call it good. But we don't....
