Test pipes and Y pipe with stock muffler
Anybody running this kind of set up? Are the factory mufflers restrictive? I love the tone of it but would like a lil more umph if you get what im saying.
go high flows, they're not raspy like test pipes for the most part.
you could also go with a greddy sp2 rear muffler and delete your mid muffler and keep stock cats which would sound really nice also.

I have gutted RT High Flows with a Japtrix Y-Pipe and B-Pipe. I enjoy the sound but to be honest, the Y/B Pipe only subtracted 0.05, half a tenth of a second. the sound is good but go with real HF's, no test pipes. My car smells terrible, almost embarrassing at some lights if there's no breeze.
I would recommend test pipes with stock y-pipe and muffler. If you are going to change out any 1 part of the catback system, do it all at once. That's my opinion ...
Most aftermarket y-pipe will be too big for the stock axle-back (Midpipe + muffler) section. Therefore, the axle-back section will create an orifice-type restriction, which will nullify any effects from adding a y-pipe. Of course if you get some kind of reducers, that may help.

I have cheapie ebay resonated test pipes and stock exhaust. very nice combo - not to loud but a little louder than stock.
had a custom dual 2.5 apex exhaust on there along with test pipes and it woke the dead. slapped the stock exhaust back on and i'm happy.
