Default Installing kintetixs hfc

I just got some kinetix high flow cats, and found out I need some new nuts and bolts. What size do I need? Any tips for install?

a. Most likely you will remove and discard the catalytic converter mounting brace. The Kinetix HFC has no mounting brackets, so the big brace just gets in the way.
b. The nuts and bolts (10) are the same size, but the service manual does not state the size. I advise that you take the HCF to the store, and buy bolts. An example of proper length needed is to put the 2 HFCs together. Suitable hardware is stainless steel with self-locking nuts.
c. Also go with new gaskets.

Nuts and bolts are 5/HFC. Gasket can be bought from Nissan. About $40/4. If the HFC at set-up for bracing, then I would attach them with the support brackets. As you know, HFCs are relatively. It is better that they be supported.

no need for new gaskets, i reused my stock ones twice already. the bolts for the brace can be reused so you just need bolts for the hfcs. install and uninstall is straight foward just make sure you are gentle with the o2 sensors. you dont want to damage them.

the stock gaskets are the best ones money can buy. If they dont look like you had them sitting over a camp fire for an hour then they are probably good to go. New ones couldn't hurt but i wouldn't considerate it a priority. New bolts will be necessary which you'll probably find that one or two of yours will be a b|tch to get off and may need cutting. Plus, its hard enough to reach up and connect the bolts from the header to the cat, so any friction from an old rusty bolt that can be prevented should be. Good luck with the install.

you can use any goddamn bolts that fit. I have no idea WTF metric size 5 means.

If I need a bolt, I go to the hardware store, and figure out which bolt to buy.

Just figure that the bolt has to go through twice the thickness as the end of the HFC. With additional length for the nut.

I don't give a **** either. I have equipment in my lab that uses BOTH metric and american units for bolts etc. It is useless to try to memorize all the sizes and jargon.
