Default Injen intake installation easy??

Hi,

If I bought Injen Intake, would I be able to install it myself or would I have to take it to a perf shop? If I took it to a shop how many hours do they charge, any ideas?

Also my dealer couldn't tell me if it voids warranty or not... any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have the intake, but from what I hear it's tricky to install. All the tubing and the heatshield are difficult to do.

If you don't have experience working on cars, I'd say take it to a shop. Save yourself the time, frustration and scrapped knuckles. A shop should be able to do it in an hour.

It will not void a warranty. The burden of proof is on the dealership that the modification directly caused the problem with the car.

It's really not too difficult once you get in there and start working. Some of the pieces you need to work on are tricky to get to, but other than that, it's no big deal.

I did my install in about an hour and a half, and didn't even have to take the front bumper off. You're more than welcome to PM me if you have any specific questions along the way.

Good luck and post pics when you're done!

If anyone is willing, I'd really appericate a Install Write Up on the intake..?

Questions I have:

What tools are needed?
For the Injen, did you remove your front number?
How long did it take to install?
1-10, 10 being extremely, how difficult is it to install?

(I've installed headlights and few other small things, this would be my first performance install, any tips or help would be appericated)

I'll see what I can put together--I promised a write up on a spoiler install as well, so I should be able to get through both fairly quickly when I get home. Gimme a few hours, and I'll see what I can put together to help everyone out.

Sweet! Thanks!

If you recommend removing front bumper, please give details on how, and if I need any special parts, like ramps.

I just installed one, and it was a "a piece of cake" to install. However, I have insalled several different intakes on many different cars in my life time, so maybe I have a little more pratice than some.

Ricky--I'm SO sorry I didn't get to do the write up I promised you last night. I got home from work and one of my migraines hit me--and I basically had to go to bed at 6. If you still want me to do one, I'll be more than happy to. Let me know.

Oh man, I'm sorry abuot those migranes! I have them too, I used Excredrine PM, helps me hit the sack faster too! Works decently, doesn't make it go away, but already drugs me up enough to sleep comfortably. Try it out..

And thanks a lot for the Injen CAI write up you're willing to do, I'd still love it if you could do one, my intake is scheduled delivery day is April 28, coming monday, so anytime up to then will be highly appericiated!
