Choice between exhausts
Ok finally getting some money and the fiance is "allowing" me to buy something for myself before the wedding. So which one sounds nice has good performance and looks nice. I was thinking the Greddy SP2 or the Tanabe touring medalion

any body have the pics of the Greddy?

5. what exhaust sounds/looks/performs the best?
A. What do you consider "best"? Every car is different. It's like your fingerprints. Even though they all look the same, has the same engines, etc, they all have minor differences. Therefore no one can say what is "best" overall. Look at the sticky thread in the "Intakes/Exhausts" forum and listen to sound clips as well as check out some pictures to help you decide.

You should decide your priorities and budget.
The tanabe medalion touring is the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard, but maybe not the best design for power because it's just a clone of the nismo (like most dual tip single exhausts)
whatever you decide, take comments on the internet with a grain of salt. even mine :P

Since the sound is the largest variable, it seems the objective is to find the one that sounds best to you. I have no idea how to accomplish that. I've been listening to sound clips for 2 weeks and have yet to find two, of the same make and model, that sound alike.
Myself, I'm looking for the deepest note with the least rasp and a low db level, so far I'm leaning towards the NISMO due to the cosmetics, ease of installation and compatability and warranty (and partly due to the 11ty million sound-clips I've heard this month). You seem to have done your homework, because the ONLY exhaust I've found that rivals the NISMO in its cosmetics is the Medallion Touring.
If the NISMO had the bevelled tips, this would be a no-brainer for me (I love that on the Medallions!). I'd suggest, at the risk of flames, that you get the one that looks the best to you. If it is a NISMO-type design like this one, I doubt it will be raspy and I'm pretty sure the difference in power gains would be insignificant (from what I've found so far... still studying!!).
Hey Wired, were you serious about the Medallion? If it is deeper than the NISMO for some reason, I may change my mind. They are beautiful too, if nothing else.

My Super Medallion is deeper than a Nismo

Thanks for the explaination!
If not for the warranty part and the ease of installation, I'd go with the Tanabe based upon cosmetics, it's design, and the things I've heard. It is simply beautiful. On the other hand, I'm leaning towards NISMO just based upon the comfort that comes from knowing it will not void any warranties (or cause me to have to defend myself to the dealer over it) and that, just in case there are any problems or it throws any lights or anything, I will be in a better position with the dealership.
The Tanabe(s) are, hands down, my over-all favorite.
Does it make me a ricer if I'm slightly influenced by the etching on the NISMO tips?
