Default stock gasket, new, or permatex silicone goop?

I`m thinking of adding a(used) y-pipe to my midpipe back JIC single. Since the in and out of the y-pipe is larger than the stocker, would you suggest :
1. New gaskets ( where`s the best place to pick up gaskets for a 2.5 in `` to 3``exit?)
2. Keep the old (car has 23k on it. It`s a 2003)
3. Buy `permatex` high temp silicone and ``make my own gasket``?

What is the cost of 3 gaskets like this? 10? 20?

Thanks!

A first class job deserves new gaskets. Always.

I could have gotten away with re-using my existing gaskets, which were less than 1 year but chose not to.

I am glad I did.

1. go to the store.
2. buy a $5 12" x 12" sheet of high temp exhaust gasket material
3. you can use ure pipe as a template and just use scissors and make your own. its way easier than searching and looking for the exact diameter with the exact bolt pattern.
