Any improvement would be from a larger air filter being used. The design is almost the same as stock. I don't think it will be that loud either. Usually uncovered intakes are the loudest like the pop charger. Interesting though I would like to see the results.

I am somewhat suprised that Stillen covered the air filters, somewhat E60 M5 style. If it were my car I might just keep the heat shields and remove the covers and then it would/should sound pretty d*mn good.

If this intake really does make 8whp and it cost $400, dang yo, it's 50 bucks a pop (hp)! Guess I'll hold on to my stock intake for now.

You mean the new 07 intakes don't use the same size filter as 03-06 stock? Or you're just not sure?

they don't, i'm positive, compared mine to a friends 04, and his intake box and tube is much bigger

makes sence, since the pre 07's have only one tube, and the 07 has 2

I looked on the K&N website and put in the dimensions for the filters and nothing came up. I prob measured wrong but I looked for a while. Drop in filters are the best bang for your buck.

I'm honestly surprised someone came out with something this soon. Good job Stillen.

First to the plate usually gets the business. I won't hold my breath about these making any power though.

Well I know k&n makes custom filters for applications, i'm sure they'll make one for this thing. It might be easier to look up the new 07' g35 4 doors since they came out with this motor before the z did.

I just checked for the 07 g35 and nothing came up.

Maybe I should make a custom ram air system for the stock airbox hmm...

drop in filters do nothing for the hr, sharif dyno's the stock intakes without the filters in place and didn't gain anything, no filters allow more air than a high flow drop in.

on another note,

looking at the instructions, looks like the maf housing is still the bottle neck, i personally don't think this will get any gains over stock, i guess we'll have to wait for dyno results
