U got 35whp ...nice..but you also had headers..but you dont have the mrev2..only the spacer..but thats prolly irrelevent..
HFC instead of testies too...that might gimme an extra half hp..lol
Im gonna go F.I..but I wouldve needed the exhaust, testpipes, and maybe the utec anyway...the rest however I can still use and or sell..so Itll be ok.

every car will react differently to any set of mods
on my own car (04), I netted over a 30 whp gain between stock baseline and basic bolt ons
Intake (Gruppe-M)
Exhaust - Ultimate Racing High Flow cats, Ultimate Racing Y Pipe, Fujitsubo Ti catback
Unorthodox crank pulley, underdriven
UTEC - with alot of tuning
so, is it possible? absolutely...the UTEC, without a doubt is the single biggest hp/torque producing mod I had done.

I would've probably dynoe about 5-7whp higher if I put on my 17" stockers, but still slow lol

UTEC with tuning gave me biggest hp and tq gain.
Also, my peak torque comes in at 3500RPM compared to 4800RPM of stockers.

Also - It's actually possible to lose whp with bolt-on's (without a tune) because of the leaned out condition they can cause... I personally don't consider a good tune 'optional'. And am quite fond of UTEC to this end...

Oh well, you just showed the saying that every car responds differently is true. And I do agree with you that tuning shouldn't really be considered an option, richer or leaner will leave power on the table as well as possibly make your car unsafe to operate in extreme cases.

Oh, I was just speaking in general about breather mods leaning out the factory tune. I've had a UTEC / tune since I started modding, so I really don't know what the 'untuned' affect would have been on my '06 in particular...

Im with all of u..coming from a turbo car i understand why tuning is important...did not think as much with n/a..but i see ur pts.
I however dont think it should cost as much for a n/a car to get tuned as a turbo/sc car...it should be cheaper..dont u agree...tuning shops round here do not.

To me the best mods you can add is, a set of TP's, a plenum spacer, and a 06 airbox w/K&N (or some different intake w/proven gains.) After this, it just starts getting expensive. I would add a set of pulleys, but there is a lot of debate over these, as far as gains, and with the reliablitly of them as well.

This car is horrible in its dollar to hp ratios in the aftermarket...truly my 190 hp maxima responded better to bolt ons...lol.
I bought all the parts so it really doesnt matter...the pieces are in motion.

its not that bad. My breakdown is
$600-exhaust (HKS KO)
$850-Utec
$300-Topspeed Headers
$160-Turbo XS Testpipes
$270-AAM plenum spacer
$400-M-rev2
All the install were done by me and my buddy so there were 0 install cost. Many people on here pay through the nose for mods because they don't do their own work on their cars.
Add $350 for tunning and i am done. Also everything i have done so far also fits into my FI plans except for the headers. Some people will say "just save up for a turbo kit", but what they don't understand is that most of these components are essential in running a efficient turbo setup.

Well i agree with the fact that. I will need most of these things in the future but to be arguinig over a net of 30 hp ...is crazy.
Why would mrc not tune an internet purchase utec...i have someone whose been tuning utecs for many years..so im ok. But if not online what do i have to do..buy it from them?...
