I was in the same problem as you just last month.

I have an 07 Z and i started with a Invidia G200 exhaust. Best looking exhaust IMO. Even better then the HKS. Unfortunately it just didnt have the sound i wanted. Like you too, i wanted a stockish sound but a little louder.

Conclusion: I swapped a guy for a Greddy Evo2. Looks aftermarket and clean. My friend also has the nismo and side by side i think our cars sound similar but the Evo2 is a little deeper.(my opinion of course)

so for you, i say your best bet is either the Nismo, or the Greddy Evo2

trade your hks for the nismo then...although nismo is not a true dual and lacks some of the power up top. I had both. decided to stick with the HKS.

go for the nismo. I was choosing between the two and went with the nismo. If you love the stock sound but want to hear it more then Nismo is the choice. Then after awhile if you want it to be louder add HFCs.

seems like a totally personal choice.

Why do you care what other people have done? If you want to switch, switch!

It seems to me like the exhaust sound is what you're after, so spend some time searching for sound clips or go to local 350z meets and figure out what you want.
