Default Nismo Exhaust

I recently purchase a nismo exhaust (I love you Sam), but it lacks a Nismo y-pipe. I was wondering will it work with a stock pipe? Will I love that much performance/sound (I am simply in LOVE with teh sound of this exhaust)?

Did you even try to find the information yourself before wasting everyone's time with a worthless thread like this??

It will work. It's an exhaust, think about it.

You know, this seems like something easily searchable, but in fact I'm having trouble finding out if the OEM mid-pipe will bolt to the NISMO Y-pipe, so that it can be swapped out when the extra sound deadening is needed.

If I find my answer, then you will have yours too (and vice versa).

It will work with the stock y-pipe. The problem is the stock piping size is smaller than the Nismo so it will not be a smooth flow from beginning to end.

Will this screw up the sound of the exhaust and be a big hit to performance?

^ damn man ....do people even bother surfing the site now-a-days before asking such a question ????????? Check the sponsors on this site https://my350z.com/sponsors/....and form what i have seen Jeff@westcovinanissan (username for site, PM him) has great deals on Nismo exhausts.

where is WIRED...so many random threads....sounds harsh but they stuff up the already slow search engine on this site

And to OP...if adding an aftermarket y-pipe, the sound should increase minutely but it will keep the Nismo note. Power-wise it should just give you an overall better flowing exhaust since the stock y-pipe is so damn tiny

Buy a Fujitsubo Y-pipe, almost identical to the Nismo.
