Hey does anyone know if the Stillen exhaust is any good? The power out says 13 HP, but how does it sound and is it a worth system to get?

I'd wait for the Borla dual exhaust to come out before you decide.

How much does the stock exhaust weigh? and the Stillen? Borla?

That Borla sounds like it's the sh$t. I wonder how it will sound.

Default Stillen Exhaust

Of course I like it, I bought it & installed it three days ago ! I should say that Crawfordzcar installed it without a hitch and the sound is great! Waiting on delivery of their headers(Crawford's) , should be about 2 more weeks.

Those that have bought it like it alot. Those that dont own it dont like it. So you will most likely get more nah then yah.

Yeah, but it sounds 3 times better (deeper and throatier) than stock and it adds low end grunt. The difference is definitely noticable and the sound is amazing...

But don't all the other options give the same benefits while being lighter than stock at the same time?

Well, I just saw an install of this exhaust and it looks 100 times better than stock. The few pounds that i may weigh more than stock should mean anything. 10 lbs isn't much at all in the whole scheme of things.

The exhaust was a dual with a X-pipe right after the headers. It is so far the first true dual that I have seen. All the others are the Y pipe going into a 2.5" pipe, back to dual mufflers. In all cases, one large pipe flows better than dual pipes, but the flow can be disturbed with both banks firing into a single pipe (hence the X in the pipe). So far, the stillen seems like the best design. Well, lets see the next poster prove me wrong!!

Default Yeah

I am happy with mine. Yes it is heavy but I would sacrifice the weight for increased HP and much better sound.

I agree obviously with the statment above that it is currently the best design out there. The only change I would make is the material. A nice TI system would be nice but I am not familiar with a true dual TI exhaust.

Default Stillen Exhaust

Had mine on since they started shipping them. I willcalled mine to save the shipping and the people at Stillen were clueless that I even had a system on order. It was easy to install. Sounds great. looks great and it works. Haven't had time for a dyno session, but I can tell a big difference. Another 10 Lbs. is no big for a street car. Someone will allways have a better, cheeper system out in the future. That's progress. Just look at the computer industry. So use what you want, buy newer, better when you can and F**k everyone else because no matter what you do to your car, the day will come when that other guy pulls up and smokes your ***. The truth is that nobody has the fastest Z (or any other car) for more than a couple of races. This is progress and the aftermarket industry feeds on this "I am the fastest" mentality. Set your car up how you like and enjoy. You won't be the fastest on the planet but you will be faster than most.

I tend to agree..perhaps the Borla may give it a run for the money being cheaper and weighing less ( that would make it a good value for sure) but for now as far as performance.. stillen makes the best true dual exhaust out there from what I have have heard of those with them in their Z's. no complaints about the seat of the pants feeling eitherwhich is a plus to say the least.

Thumbs up

HAD THE OPPRITUNITY TO INSTALL THE STILLEN EXHAUST, AND WHAT I LIKED MOST BOUT THE EXHAUST WAS THE SOUND, FIT & FINISH, INSTALLATION WAS A SNAP. DROVE THE CAR AFTERWARDS
AND WAS PLEASED WITH THE NOISE LEVEL INSIDE THE Z HAD NOT INCREASED MUCH AT ALL. THE Z FELT (I SAY FELT BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER ON A DYNO) MUCH MORE CRISP THAN THE STOCK SYSTEM ON THE CAR. THE STAINLESS CANS LOOK TEN TIMES BETTER THAN THE STOCK.
