Default Cats are Rattling!HELP!!

ok so i installed my new Kinetix cats a while ago and there was a really loud rattle. I figured it was cause the bolts were not all tightend down cause i didnt have the tools to do it at the time. But now that it has been all tightend down i still here the same rattle!! I was just wondering if anyone else was having this problem and what they did to fix it.

Thanks,

Torched

it's a process of elimination. Get under there and check the piping. When i installed my cats i had to tweak the tubing downward slightly which caused a pipe to get close to the bottom rear strut in the back of the car. Therefore rattling over bumps, and on cold start ups. Check your exhaust all the way down if you had to do any adjusting to get the cats in place. Good luck with things, rattle is annoying, and irritating trying to make it stop.

The noise you are hearing is probably the left side cat rattling against your heatsheild. What i did was1) REMOVE CAT.2)REMOVE HEATSHEILD & SMASH THE FINS DOWN WITH A HAMMER.

i got an email from kinetix telling them my problem and they said that its the car. So far they are telling me to remove the heat shield and that should fix the problem. But no complete response back yet....

You seem to be on the right track.

I had a very similar issue with my Crawford HFC's in this thread:

I provided pics. of what I did to solve it.

You don't have to remove the cats to fix it. Get a pry par and shove it up there to bend them back. Careful though, kinetix cats have been know to crack (mine did).
