I searched, and didn't find anything. Had I found something, I would probably get flamed for bringing something back from the dead.

Ok, on an otherwise 100% stock Z, how much do test pipes (resonated and non-resonated) increase the sound? Sound quality? Is it like stock, only louder?

How about just an aftermarket Y pipe? Also, sound quality?

And finally, the combination of both together, and again, sound quality?

I would like a mild increase in exhaust volume, without ruining the quality of sound. I think Z's sound great, even stock, just a bit too quiet a wot. However, I would like to be able to continue carrying on civilized conversations at cruise without having a shouting match with the exhaust.

In my past experiences with my Mustangs, they sounded great with an off-road (catless) X pipe and stock catback. Everybody complimented and asked what brand of catback I was running. They couldn't believe it was stock. I guess nobody ever gave the stock mufflers a chance.

Test pipes will increase exhaust noise by a couple of decibels.
Headers will increase exhaust noise by a couple of decibels.
If you begin with a relatively loud cat back exhaust, then the change will be more dramatic.
