Default greddy ti-c, burning my rear bumper?

I've had this exhaust installed for a few weeks now and tied with my helix test pipes, it seems to be melting the paint on my rear bumper. The entire area near the exhaust is a dark brown.

Is anyone else with this exhaust having the same problem? I'm beginning to feel the RSR exmag exhaust sticks out for a reason (even though it's ugly) that I had on my old Z. Is there any way to prevent this?

According to people on this forum from other exhaust threads, the track version has the same size piping as the HKS Hi-power dual exhaust, which is bigger than stock

I have the greddy ti-c, and I don't have the problem with my bumper getting burnt, and my car's white! I don't know why your bumper would get burned, do you have test pipes or anything? I'm running stock cats for now, and my exhaust still does a good job of sticking out so it doesnt touch the bumper. Hope you find a solution.

to remove the brown stain on the rear bumper spray on some K&N Filter cleaner. im sure there are tons of products out there that will take it off. but the K&N Filter Cleaner Spray works for me it takes it right off. Im not sure whats the long term effect but as long as that brown stain is gone im happy. Im also running a single exhaust but i have a Apex'i with Helix test pipes.

But from what you said about the section where your exhaust is melting your bumper, i believe its because of the horrible design Greddy made with their single exhaust because the outlet of the muffler is to tucked in the rear bumper. Apex'i and JIC's singles stick out all the way so the outlet of the muffler doesnt come incontact with the rear bumper

*** ITS NOT BURNING**

You have test pipes, of course its going to show all of the crap thats coming out of you motor, there is no cat there to burn up all fumes coming out. Its a common problem, I know I had to deal with it too.

Dont do this. That stuff is caustic and I imagine will eventually strip the paint. I once dripped this stuff on the floor of a shop and it ate the paint off.

Just get some nice cleaner wax and use some elbow grease. Trust me, after driving with open pipes and a rich/oil burning turbo car I can tell you this will remove it without harming the paint.

The other day a guy told me to use WD-40. Said that's all he's every used. I'm still paranoid about trying it. I like the elbow grease idea. It's already been tried. Sure thing.

it's called an exhaust burn. My old HKS didn't have that problem, cuz you can adjust the length of the tips. I also had do luck rear, which is designed to repel exhaust burnz.

It's just excess carbon or charred oil residue from the combustion chamber. It can be wiped off.
