Default '03 350z looking for some good N/A power

I live in Boyertown, PA... better known as bumble***k. The only tuner near me is in a town about 15min away and he blows up everything he touches... or looks at... or has a say in. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a good competent tuner or performance facitility in PA or even close to PA. NOONE SAY VRT!!! I dealt with altered atmosphere, but I swear it is like 1 in 20 emails are finally answered, and at that it is always like a week later. But I am looking for a good shop that can tell me what my best bet for cam's would be for my N/A For what is done to it. And I know, I bought a few AAM things, but I noticed everytime I payed them first, they were right on the ball to answer me, now that I ask them ahead of ordering, it is like I didn't even exist.

Or even so, on this board, I'd like a few good inputs into what type of cams I should run for what is done in my signature. I am still deciding as I like this car and it is my daily driver, but I'd like to keep it quick, mean sounding, and intimidating. But I am actually not looking to throw a gigantic ammount of money at it since I am actually trying to build up an old 85 300zx TURBO! And that is fun cause I know nothing about it, so I need as much money as I can to fix my mistakes.

Isn't the regional forum a better place to ask for regional shop recommendations?

Well the main question was also what cams others with about the same setup are running and how much they like them. I'd hate to go buy the Brian Crower ones cause it seems noone is running his cams. All I hear about are the Nismo's and the JWT's... But I wanted to see some other options, and possibly where people got theirs.

Don't waste your time/money. Either go all out with a forced induction setup on the 350z, or invest that money into your 300zx.

NA mods, especially cams, only lead to disappointment. That is, unless you're willing to spend $10k+ in which case it would have been cheaper to get a turbocharged setup.

not everyone wants turbo. If done right, N/A is just as much fun as turbo, remains practical ect.
You can try to contact a few places near by. My two favorite would be carV2 and MRC. Both are competent. In terms of N/A power, Z1auto (not a shop, but a vendor) can definitely lead you in the right way.

With all the N/A mods I have, my Z's still slow as hell..45-50whp on thousands of dollars spent wasn't just worth it IMHO.

Well I figure if I get a cam, it is just one less thing to get once I go turbo. I don't exactly have the finances around right now to blow 7K for the greddy setup. So I figure get the cams a while... One less thing to do once I go finallllllyyyy go forced.

cams will add about 10 hp with a different power range. Indeed it will be an improvement, but you may not like it. With all the bolt on's your looking at 5k for new parts installed. 30hp would be an almost fictious gain even with everything. If you want to stay NA and produce killer power than you have to spray. The gains you will retrieve from bolt ons will make you frown over time when you compare hp/$. I'm almost done and still not satisfied.

Aren't cam grinds for FI distinctly different for those for NA purposes as well? Pretty sure they are not a one-size-fits-all proposition...

^ yup

na mods are a dissapointment. I went down that long downhill road and got sick of my pitiful gains. So i went with nitrous, ran it at the track once and didnt care too much for the kick it gave. Now im in the process of installing my vortech sc which will give me a nice linear power curve and be very enjoyable.

Wrong. JWT, Nismo, and Tomei just to name a few. You'll lose low end though.

Well would under drive pulley sets be worth the money than if I am switching over to F/I eventually. But I know if I switch over, it kind of takes superchargers out of the question. Although I do really really like the greddy kit.
