I trust you...I've installed both on a car the same day too...a 350Z and a G35 - and drove them both 100 miles each to see how the system changes for each car as it seasons.

The Nismo is about ~7db louder than the stock systems, and the Z is ~2db louder than the G to start with.

You'll loose loudness 'effect' with a deeper exhaust tone, as the lower level does not penetrate as well. But when it comes to sound pressure levels, there's no argument.

I have found the stock exhaust in the G35 to be deeper & slightly louder than the 350Z. When I had my stock exhaust, many Z owners would ask me if I had done something to my exhaust.

As far as the Nismo, it's definately not loud. But its louder and deeper than the stock exhaust in the G & Z.

Now, I have the Fast Intentions exhaust. And I have no regrets what so ever.

No. The exhaust is not more restrictive. I'm wondering what ever gave you that idea. As far as the intake, it has a slightly smaller diameter, which is why many G owners go the Z-tube route. But that's not going to affect that exhaust what so ever.

no - G owners put the Z tube on because the Z tube does not have the sound baffles in it and it sounds better and gives you ~1-3HP.

Ok well if the final verdict is that it IS louder AND deeper than the G/Z, then im sold on this exhaust

I just wanted an exhaust that didnt change the stock tone, but at the same time amplifies it

I agree with the sound, but respecfully disagree with the slight power. This tube never yielded any power, nor was it shown to help me on the drag strip nor a dyno.

yea..~1-3 HP with a tune, is what you can expect...I verified that a few years back. That little HP wouldn't change anything for a run anyway. If someone wants to be a dyno champ - then the Z tube isn't the way to go...FI is - the ultimate intake system

Well i really dont know much about the Fast Intentions exhaust, so ill have to go around and do some research. But since youre a Fast Intentions sponsor, what can you tell me about this exhaust? Im assuming that it still keeps the stock note which is why you told me about it. Easy install? Is it as simply as the Nismo? How does it sound? Power gains? And also, pricing? Any info would be great.
