Default Is the Pop Charger Heat Shield touching pipes ok?

Just installed my pop charger. No matter how I tighten it down, cant manage to get the hield shield off the silver pipes running to the engine. Id imagine those will get very hot, and its comming into contact with the rubber trim on the heat shield. Should I worry about a fire or anything like that, or just let it melt as it's going to do? Anyne else have this problem?

The only silver pipes I see running around the area of the placement of the heat sheid I see, is the A/C lines. In which that would not be of concern.

It shouldn't be a problem but it also shouldn't be a problem adjusting the shield so it doesn't touch. If you can't get it to not touch then maybe the shield was manufactured wrong.

Well, drove on it all day today, didnt smell ay burning or have any problems. I'll check for damage to the rubber or heat shield tomorrow. If it looks ok after an hour highway drive to and from, I'm not going to fiddle with it anymore.

How do you like the intake? I've got one sitting in cart right now, just cant decide on clicking checkout. 115 isnt bad for a brand new one, so i hear.

I just bought the car today, maybe I should wait before modding??

I'm not sure, but it doesn't sound like you have it installed correctly. I don't remember having any pipes in the way when I installed mine.

Does it look like this?

I'd at least wait until tomorrow!
The Pop charger is great. I installed one last summer and it bumped my power and my mileage on the highway. I've also got a cf air duct in the bumper, so that helps the flow too. 28 mpg at 75-80 mph.

See, I am going from an 03 Honda Civic to this 03 Z. It has more HP and torque, and it's a nicer looking car, than really any of my friends drive. I am 21 and still in college. I just wanted a step up and improvement. With that said, bought the pop charger looking more for fuel efficiency over HP, because the Z already has more HP than I could have ever hoped. I do feel a SLIGHT gain in the upper RPMs, but I also notice a SLIGHT increase in power in the lower RPMs. Might just be me, but I noticed the same thing with my Civic when I installed an AEM short ram. Again, doesnt bother me at all, only looking for better fuel efficiency since I went from regular to premium fuel and it's eating at my wallet. I am sure it helps efficiency a lot, if that's what you're going for. Can't complain with the new sound to the engine either

Oh, and yes that is how mine looks in the pic. There is only really 1 way to put the shield in, I know it's in there correctly, just needs to be moved a little. It is touching on the underside where some of the black hose for fuel/oil or whatever, there is one silver pipe there and that is the one it was touching. Its raining right now, but I drove with it all yesterday and I'll check the shield later today.

Checked today after a few days of hard driving. Nothing appears to be wrong, melting or anything like that. I'll move the shield around the next time I get a chance, but for now appears solid and working well.

you shouldn't have a problem. the shield is close to the AC lines but doesn't cause any problems.
