Thumbs up xo2 exhaust installed

Had my xo2 installed earlier today. If anyone is in the Sacramento area I'm sure you have heard of Muffler Tech if not they are a great shop to do business at this is where I had it installed. They only charged me 60 bucks and once my car was on the lift it only took about 30 minutes and all finished. I have been going to these guys for years that they always do an awesome job. Now on to my impressions of the x02. Simply put "freaking awesome!" I'm sure like the rest of you, before I purchased my exhaust I went on youtube and this forum listening to sound clips of different setups. I have to say I was a bit skeptical about the x02 exhaust but the price was just so good I couldn't resist and I have to say the clips do it no justice at all. From the first start up to driving around time I was impressed and not the only one. I have had a ton of compliments and I've only had it for a day. Even Chris the manager at Muffler Tech was unsure how it would sound as I told him the x02 was a replica of the HKS and he was not a fan of the HKS when he had done a prior Z with it and he currently owns a G35 with a custom made exhaust which simply sounds amazing which is expected considering he manages an exhaust shop. He loved the way it sounded. Now I'm not trying to put down the HKS as I'm sure its overall a better exhaust but maybe the x02 just puts out a different sound one that I think myself, not everyone is more attracted to. As far as the butt dyno goes it does feel like it has some more top end on it but not much improvement as far as the low end. I have to say the only drawback to the x02 so far is that the tips are bigger than I expected but it still looks sweet with the burnt tips. I would recomment this exhaust to anyone who is looking for an inexpensive exhaust that sounds and performs great.

Yeah, I'm going to miss my XO2 (Sold to another member) but it is a great exhaust and on my HR, the power difference was night and day Especially going back to stock...I've heard the HKS in person and there is a difference in sound...XO2=more throaty, HKS= Higher pitched in upper RPM's...Congrats!!!

If you liked it so much then why did you take it off?

I bought it from iptuned always a great place to do business. It was $630 shipped to my door and I don't have hfc or test pipes. I don't think I wanna go with test pipes because I don't want to change the sound. As far as hfc I was gonna go with those but my exhaust guy said they are a waste of money not worth the price so I think I will just leave it and next mod will be my intake.

For the money a popcharger is hard to beat

The only reason I got rid of the exhaust was I wanted to run HFC's or TP's and I'm afraid it would be way 2 loud for my taste...I'm also wanting a more stock sounding exhaust (just a tad louder) like the stillen or borla..The borla with HFC's sound awesome on the HR....Don't get me wrong, I really liked the XO2, but I'm the type of guy that likes to change my exhaust every once in awhile..

Johnnyblaze, I will be installing my intakes Monday and I'll take some pics afterwards. I'm not expecting much gain, just like all the other intakes even for the previous models...It's simply for sound and what not... Just something to tide me over until I get my new exhaust..

Yeah I posted my baseline under the vqhr thread. My highest numbers were 269hp and 238tq on a dyno jet.

Once I get my intakes I will probably dyno again. Seems too expensive to dyno after every mod. Especially once they bring out an ems for the '07 then I want to get her tuned. I will post though when I do bring her back to the dyno with some mods.

How much do you pay for baseline pulls?

DAMN SON!

We pay 45 for three pulls and 75 an hour for tuning

I just think you should dyno individual components to see the net gain of each one but for 135 for three pulls I dont blame you!

Wow that seems like same great rates. I'm from Sacramento and the only other shop I could find in the area was charging $150 for baseline so $135 didn't seem too bad. To tune they charge $125 and hour. If you know any cheaper shops in my area please let me know it would be much appreciated. If I could find a shop with prices in the 45 to 75 range I would dyno after every mod.

Thanks Nexx. Really happy I went this way. Every time I drive it I can't help to think the Z couldn't sound any better. I was going to use hfc or test pipes but I do not want to change my exhaust note at all.

i love my xo2. but i think i might be going with hfc's and evoTT . FP had a very good result with that setup. also it is a little on the loud side. ( i need to hear evoTT with TP's or HFC's i hope it is not as loud )
