Also, what about the filter situation? This removes an airbox, right? So I'm assuming there won't be anything put in place to filter the air intake, eh?
Just figured I'd ask.

Arnold K.,You can run these with just filters if you use a stand alone and get rid of the airflow meter. You will have to use a map sensor and air temp sensor instead.I think that either the Haltech or Utec should be able to do this.
KeOki2k, the factory ecu is capable but you will need an airbox and you will have to use your airflow meter.

if they make this happen they should make the intake box cover the itb's then come out towards from the front of the car like the corvettes have it on the lsx engines. i think that is the best bet. that way there is no need for a different hood, resulting into more cost to consumer.

So you're trading a cost of a hood for costs elsewhere, and at the end of the day, anyone truthfully considering this type of mod (beyond the cool factor) is not going to be put off by either of these additional costs.
unless there was another hood made for the ITB's, there will alot hot air going into your engine.
regardless there is gonna be a intake box made and i think that the best idea . would be just a cover with the horns popping into the intake box and a 3in maf.. but similar to the vettes intakes, for those who don;t know, the intake comes from the intake manifold, from the middle and straight forward to the bumper sucking in cold air. vs heat soaked air.
but if the whole setup is about 5000 plus.
how much horsepower would we expect from this.
25whp?
50whp?
100whp?
FI/ is about 9000 for a reliable 400whp. this equation is off the top of my head, but i think its at least ballpark
i would rather have a 350whp car with a 100shot when i need it vs a FI Z with 450whp... turbos and superchargers put alot stress on an engine. i just would rather have a NA z
