Unhappy test pipe install gone wrong

well i finished installing my test pipes but when i rev up the engine, it sounds like the exhaust is leaking where the test pipes are as the revs come down. And i also got the service engine soon light.

I know of the rasp from the test pipe but is that what the rasp is?
I also have the non-foulers so i dont know why its throwing a code...should i just remove the negative off the battery and see if it goes away?

help please!

yeah its more then likely the rasp. Sounds similar to a leak. annoying but worth it in my opinion just get an exhaust thats loud enough you cant hear it .

I done this on 3 z's since you have already messed i recommend disconnect battery for 5 mins pump the brake lights to insure a complete discharge if you put on the aftermarket exhaust gaskets i would put the nissan ones back on... start car and let idle for 10 mins DO NOT rev engine up.
if this does not work post result of this.

First thing *I* would do is get the code pulled to make sure it really is the rear 02's (and not something else throwing the code). If it is the 02s, then try putting some stainless (pot scrubber) mesh in your non-foulers. Others have had luck doing this.

If that doesn't work, you may have damaged the 02s during the install. Time to get another 02 sensor(s). The insides of the sensors are ceramic and susceptible to damage either by temperature shock or physical impact.

I was able to get to mine from underneath . But on the driver's side, I had to disconnect the steering column to get to the top bolt. I marked the steering column spline with white-out before disconnecting it, so it could be lined back up when putting it back together.

buy a 30" extension. no need to undo the steering column.

That's what I did. And it helps to take off the intake to reach the bolts/nuts on the driverside.
