Default GTM Camshafts

I can't seem to find the thread where they discussed their camshafts... does anyone happen to still have it. I did search, but I only searched for threads started by George@GTM. I am N/A right now, have no problem with needing to upgrade cams later on as I want to build the block for turbo's power, but I'd like to throw in some camshafts to help the stock N/A engine, with all i have done to it, breath a little better. I would like to not have to change any of my valve spring or anything such as that, but get some more get-up-N-go outta my car.

check out www.forgedperformance.com Sharif carries a full line of GTM goodies.

To answer your questions... You would most likely need to add springs and retainers especially on a 287 motor.

I am in the same boat my next modification will be my heads. I am looking for some high lift high duration NA cams in my rev-up

George Hook it up.

I would say stage 1, would be safe, but IMHO without changing anything do the JWT S1

The profile of a naturally aspirated cam would be detrimental to a turbocharged car. Turbo cams for turbo cars, and NA cams for NA cars. GTM sells both. I just installed a set of turbo cams and will be putting the car on the dyno this week with my Greddy TT. Turbocharged cams have a small overlap so the cylinder can pressurize quickly. A NA cam would have a larger overlap to increase performance. Decide what you want to do and get the appropriate cams. The turbo cams are pretty mild, and Sam told me to switch springs and retainers.

The Turbo cams will idle smooth since they have less overlap than stock, the NA cams will be a bit more aggresive and might require and idle bump, We can do that if needed.
These cams are safe to use with your stock valvetrain although if you want to increase the rev limiter we recommend upgrading the valvetrain but if you plan to stay within the factory rev limiter you should be fine

well i already have an ecu tune but it actually seems to idle slightly lower than stock currently with no real problems at all. I intend on getting a whole new built engine when i go turbo, so i don't want to spend all that money on just a valvetrain, but i'd like to get a cam i can pretty much just throw in there and feel a little bit on the butt dyno since everything else is already done. I hear great things on GTM so I figure their cams should be the best bet, considering everywhere else i look has a same/same configuration and i think they actually did a lot of homework to see that 256/264 maximized performance... I just am wondering if they have anything a bit more aggressive that doesn't require me to change out all my valve springs... and if not, is it okay to put in the stage 1's without swapping out springs and retainers considering the limiter is already up to 7100.
