You can reuse the copper 3-bolt gaskets that hook up with the headers. But you should definately get new gaskets for the 2-bolt. The Nissan gaskets are great. But the gaskets I had on my previous car on the 2-bolt were toast; they were not OEM Nissan gaskets though.

You figure to save a lousy $40 using old gaskets? This is a joke right?

I would agree with this.

gaskets are generally made to deform ONCE upon installation, (but the 3-bolt gaskets don't really deform much or at all) the factory service manual always tells you to discard gaskets when replacing parts.

Yeah, the 3 bolt one can probably be re-used once, after that I would get another but the 2 bolt end should probably be replaced when you put the set-up on. I re-used the 3 bolt one when I put my test pipes on and there is no leak at all, everything is ok. Just make sure you tighten them down good and evenly.

Seems like its hit and miss... Some never have an issue reusing the fantastic OEM gaskets but some do. Mine would not seal properly and my car is an 06 with still only 6k miles on it. I learned the hard way... had to spend another afternoon unbolting my cats just to find out which one was leaking. (it was the 2 bolt gasket driver side)

It would be a good idea to get new nuts(10) and bolts(8),since each stock cat has 4 studs each, as well as the gaskets. I order two Random Technology HFC installation kit from Stillen. Each kit comes with 4 bolts, locking washers and nuts, and 2 Exhaust Gaskets (2 Bolt). I ordered two form the hardware.

gaskets may be reusable, but some of the bolts will probably be toast. I recommend buying all new hardware for the install.

see people ***** about people starting threads and asking questions (which is what i thought a board was for) but if you have a general question some are so quick to say things like that, i read your question exactly the way you asked it, not thinking the only reason asked was so save 40 bucks i don't know why people are always bashing everyone else can't we all just get along? just buy the gaskets then when you take the old ones off look at them and you will be able to tell if they are worn out or not, you can always return the new ones if you don't need them

I recently had headers installed. We reused the oem gaskets. No leaks except for the driver's side header/ cat gasket. So i went to the dealership and bought a new one. Replaced the old gasket with a new one. No more leaks. :-)
