Default New Injen exhaust does not fit?

I tried to get my new Injen exhaust installed today at a local shop, and it does not fit my car? Apparently, the mechanic called Injen and there are two different versions of the exhaust, one for U.S. Spec cars and one for the Japan version. Looks like I was sent the wrong exhaust. The problem is that you cannot connect it to the catalytic converter. Go figure!

I don't think Injen is making a versionof the exhaust for Japan (could be wrong though). Can you post pics of the flanges on the exhaust (the side that mounts to the cat)? I'm sure one of us could tell you if you have the correct exhaust.

Injen is an american company. I doubt they would make parts for the J-spec version of the Z33. Plus don't the Z33 in Japan and US have the same motor?

It turns out the shop and mechanic I took my exhaust to are all a bunch of morons!! Not only could they not figure out how to install the exhaust (with the instructions), but they also managed to loose several parts. After filing a complaint with the BBB, they somehow found the parts several days later. I got the parts back today and installed the exhaust myself in my garage. It was a piece of cake and the damn thing fits perfectly. I also installed my Nismo Sway bars today as well. After this bad experience with this shop, I think that I am just going to have to take the time to install all mods myself. I just cannot belive the stupidity I ran into at this shop. I was not aware that people this stupid are able to survive.

Yea apparently as hard as they try to die, they just keep on breathing. Makes a good case for mass sterilization if you ask me.

Exhaust installs are pretty easy if you're willing to get some jack stands and get a little dirty. 3 hours for the mechanically non-inclined is not too big a job.

Good luck with the new exhaust!
