NISMO and HFCs...
I want my nismo to be louder and more mean sounding.. so i said ok ill get some HFCs... (i would love to put on some RTPs, but reading about the smell, rasp, rattle, and obnoxious loudness, turned me off of TPs)
Anyways, I thought i had it all figured out, UNTIL further research landed me on this thread: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....light=cracking
... and others that talk about the nismo cracking...
So basically my questions are:
1. Is getting the HFCs for my nismo a bad idea?
2. Do the later/newer versions of NISMO exh have anything to battle this problem? (stronger welds, braces, etc.)
3. Is there anything i can add to the exhaust system to prevent cracking?
4. Are there specific brands of HFCs that will not crack with the nismo? (I think i read that the Crawford HFCs had the most problems)
Thanks in advance

I've got the NISMO...
exhaust and plan to add the Berk HFCs w/ the NISMO headers I've got sitting on my floor haha. I am sure I saw another with a similar set up. Not sure what else you're running but also rawking the MD 5/16th spacer and NISMO CAI.
I've heard nothing but good things about Berk HFCs...if that helps.

im also considering the Fast Intentions, Crawford, or Ultimate Racing cats...
im a bit timid however to pull the trigger, considering the cracking issues

I would love to hear your set-up though.. I know TPs give decent gains and i would love some more power, BUT everyone here says they are way too loud, they smell and they rasp...

Above Kinetix high-flow catalytic converter with no support bracket.
High-flow catalytic converter is a different story: about 5 to 10 pounds. Something has to support it. Usually the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipe.
