Default Which exhaust has highest pitch and least fart sound?

Which exhaust let's most of that higher VQ note through, without having a farting sound like topspeed?

Thought so. What test pipes do you recommend with a nismo for that sharp sound without rasp? Also, if I'm using test pipes, is that going to affect my emission checks at the DMV? They just hook up to my ECU, not using a sniffer in the exhaust.

I have Amuse from the midpipe back and it's not high pitch at all. Pretty deep actually. I think getting the Y-pipe or test pipes is going to give you the higher pitch out of the Amuse. I'm looking to find out for myself actually.

i personally like the HKS alot too. thats what i plan on getting probably late spring or in summer. I like the nismo too but prefer the true dual. if i'm going to replace it, might as well get true dual IMO. I'm ALMOST set on the HKS, sounds, performance, and looks.
as far as test pipes, i hear the "cheaper" branded ones tend to have more rasp. and for inspection you'll need to swap in your cats unless you have a friend who can do it. i plan on going HFC, sure its more money, but its peace of mind to me, no worrying no smell of gas.
but then again this topic is mostly a matter of personal opinion. High pitched to one may sound 'fart can' to another.

good luck with your search!

I disagree. I guess you can say it sounds ok while standing still, but when under load, it's a whole different sound. And don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about because I just listened to it a few hours ago. Somebody on campus has the exhaust and I arranged a meeting with him to listen to it.

Disclaimer: It sounds different under load (I'm not going to say it sounds bad, because everybody has their own opinion).

By under load I mean while driving. The HKS sounds pretty ok while revving and standing still, but when you take off and start driving, it sounds different.

I am completely happy with my HKS sound.... (but I also have headers, res-tp's, x-pipe, and a good tune).

Sound is very subjective; what sounds good to me may not sound good to someone else, and visa versa.

Nismo + TP's (any tp's) = RASP.

My HKS + TP's = Sexual Seduction
Its deep at low rpm's and higher pitched at high rpm's.
