Nismo Exhaust

Nismo Exhaust
For those who want the Nismo exhaust specs., here you go:
3 piece cat-back system, includes the Y-pipe.
9 lbs lighter than stock
About 6 rwhp
Double walled tip with laser etched Nismo logos, tips point up slightly.
The sound is simply amazing, sounds like a 360 Modena, just not as loud. No booming what so ever and the exhaust quality is simply gorgeous. This is a streetable performance exhaust, that will not get on your nerves and has been tested to US Nissan standards. The welds are art-work.
List MSRP: $1100, dealers set the ultimate price. This is the same exhaust that sells for about $1700-$1800 in Japan.
For those who insist the on the Borla's. Go right ahead. You can get an Untra-flow for cheaper yet, but would you put that on a 350Z? Personally, I would pay $200-$250 more for a quality, warranted unit.

I plan to go with the NISMO unit as soon as my local dealer gets on board with the program. Sounds like the combination of attributes that I was looking for. Once I get it, I'll post my impressions to the forum. I guess I'll be the test case in the Northern Virginia area.

Dude that wasn't cool. The Borla produces >2.5x more power than the Nismo and is just as high in quality. Borla is a very well renowned company, not some random dude bending pipes in his garage. There is a lot more to tuning an exhaust than putting on a new muffler. Obviously Borla did their R & D correctly if their producing an exhaust with 15hp gains. Congratulations on your new exhaust- don't take cheap shots at others.

Except for the wheels.... NISMO theme all the way on my baby..
including the exhaust...
Not related to me as yet being in Japan -- but -- the Borla results are all over the place and inconclusive at this point....

Ordered
Apparently my local dealer is now ready to order the NISMO parts. I just put in an order for the exhaust. I think his delivery estimate of a week may be optimistic, but if he's right about that, I should have it soon. Discount was similar to that posted by a West Coast dealer earlier.

Just to chime in...
I love the sound of my NISMO exhaust. I would recommend these to any 350Z owner now, especially since you can get it at a little over half of what I paid. (patience is a virtue, or at least saves money) No I don't have a sound clip. I wouldn't even know how to get one.
I hope to have headers installed soon, my vendor tells me they should arrive this week.

TCL, Were you able to get prices similar to Jeff at Performance Nissan? I too am looking at the NISMO S Tune full kit and then probably the NISMO exhaust. Other than that I am very happy with my Track as is. Might try the NISMO shift **** too. I think once the initial launch takes place the dealers are goin to get pretty competitive on the NISMO pricing. Mr. Potato Head (Dads dealership) and JeffH355 at Performance have had the best dealer prices so far.

My preference was to order the part from a local dealer so I wouldn't have to hassle with a return if the parts were damaged in shipping. Plus this is one of two good local dealers so I'd like to see them stay around. Another reason to give them my business.

failsaf3-I think to date that Borla's claim of 20-25 hp gain seems to be bogus so far until something conclusive says otherwise.I believe claims in the 8-15hp gain seem more feasible from other exhausts.

I love it that people spend $80 for a shift **** because it says NISMO on it.
I'd be happy to spend money on something that people can prove is better then another product but just because it has a NISMO name on it doesn't mean crap to me.
