Didn't cobb prove that these lost power over the stock airboxes? Pretty sure they did.

Nismo ones? I thought they added power.

Looking at the pic they look alot like the NISMO ones. How would these reduce power? Looks to me like they improve airflow.

There was a dyno day at FunctionTuned in Va. on a Hr that lost power and i believe it was about 6rwhp.

Here is the thread I was talking about.

click the link to COBBs blog

They tested the fujita and nismo ones, the AEM is pretty much the same thing as those, I would expect similar results.

Sorry for the slight hijack but has the same thing been proven with the NISMO intake?

Brand N = Nismo.

These intakes for the HR are a waste of your money, unless you just want some extra intake noise or need the bling under your hood for shows.

edit: I will add in fairness that the test was done on a VQ37HR, not a Z engine.

the NISMO's are just rebranded AEM's.

you just pay extra for the NISMO name.

he made the right choice price-wise.

though JWT Dual Pop Chargers, is the path i took and couldn't be happier.

to each his own, and good luck with your car, the HR hoods are teh secks.

Yea.. Intakes proven dyno numbers would be k&n drop in filters. Which is what I'm gonna do. When I decide I can spring for the 80 dollars.... Probly next month when all my financial problems are done.

Aem and Nismo are the same exact intakes. Nismo's are made by aem. You just pay for the name. Even tho both are expensive as fck.

Fujita intakes are probly the worst intakes to get. They show the worst loss, the most heatsoak, and other problems.

Injen hands down. And the nismo r-tunes are realy good. Only because of the water bypass valve.

If you have water at the level where it will be sucked into your motor, you have much bigger problems!!
