Default Anyone get noise violation tickets, or in trouble with Test Pipes?

Here in our county there is no emissions laws so I don't have to worry about that. I will however have my new setup soon which you can see in my sig which is as follows:

Helix Test Pipes
Injen True Dual Exhaust

I actually have been thinking about it for a while, and am scared of the consequences lol. Has anyone go in trouble for no CATS? What happened? What about noise violation tickets?

I don't drive like crazy on the streets I am pretty conservative, but this setup might be really loud..

Any input on this?

Ya, I am considering trading these for some HFC, I am really scared of what may come to happen if a cop catches me, I have heard of some nasty fines with Test Pipes.

I have headers, test pipes AND a loud *** exhaust but I've never gotten pulled over or even mentioned to about it. I don't drive it like I stole it either, and I guess the pipes are resonated so they look like cats.

I am going to be upgrading my exhuast soon as well, probably within the next month. Your thread title is definatly one of my concerns as well. I will be doing he Basselli (sp) cat back... In my city, we have a noise ordinance, I was pulled over in my 01 prelude, and all it had was a muffler replacement. It definatly wasnt as loud as something with test pipes, i'm too scared to get test pipes, not only that but we do have emissions.

I've been warned twice so far, and I feel next time I won't be so lucky. I also have test pipes with the RSR exhaust which most of us know is a loud exhaust on it's own.

Where I live, the police have their own personal vehicles. 4Runners, tahoes, Mustangs, SRT8's and they put their own aftermarket exhaust and wheels on them. Kind of makes it harder to escape, but more fun.

ive been pulled over for "looking loud"

my car wasnt moving and i was at a stop sign in neutral and i got pulled over because in my area, the new law is "no modification can be done to the stock exhaust in order to make excessive noise"

check your local laws! avoid revving in mall parking garages! i guess try not to stand out too much. (have fun in tunnels though)

Way i see it, if these guys with harleys and such can ride around at 2 in the morning with thier pipes ringing louder then any car i have heard ... I'll goto court and defend my "loud" exhaust anyday if i get ticketed.

I've never had a problem...just dont go revin the **** out of it if theres a copper at the light with you. I've had popo's next to me at a light countless times and I just make an effort to shift at about 2K rpm's till he's out of range.

I have TP and a custom Aero setup and I have only been pulled over once which was in Fort Lupton. The officer told me the only reason he pulled me over was because as I was leaving a parking lot he was near and someone flagged him down saying I was going "too fast" haha. He said he didn't think I was going that fast and mentioned that my exhaust is illegal in that town. I wasn't even given a warning for anything. I almost went with the Injen. When you get it installed we should meet up so I can hear it.

Yeah, I had just the Injen not too long ago.... I just got my TN kit installed (no cats and open wastegate) HOLY HELL it's loud! I drive VERY VERY conservative and I'm STILL nervous about cops. It's just really loud and throaty without the cats... So depending on where you live, be careful I got a noise violation ticket with my WRX, but I was at WOT when the cop heard me... If I get caught at WOT now, I'm going to jail. Haha! (knock on wood)
