Default GT Spec fitment issues

Ok, so it was my understanding that the GT Spec 4-Point mid-chassis brace would fit the Greddy Evo TT exhaust. However, I went to put mine on today and it seems the exhaust is in the way. Has anyone else had this problem, and is there anyway to resolve it?

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

I find that GTSPEC has never provided a clear understanding of which of their products fits and what does not with aftermarket parts or even stock parts for that matter.

I hesitate to purchase any GTSPEC parts until they can document a compatibility matrix for their products.

damnit. I really would like to have this piece on my car, and this pisses me off. I wonder if I could just use it with some shims and spacers.

Interesting, this is the first time I've heard of the 4 point brace not fitting. All the rest of their braces have known compatibility issues, the front with oil pans and the rears with certain exhaust configurations, but I didn't think an exhaust would hang down low enough to interfere with the mid chassis brace.

You could always get the Tanabe mid brace. It hangs down lower then the GT Spec, too low really and you will scrape the hell out of it constantly, but its an option if you feel these braces really do anything. I've had them all at one point or another and tend to think they are unneccesary, but if they give you a warm and fuzzy feeling then by all means carry on.

Edit: haven't had the fender braces though.

You'd figure they'd fit OEM.

Apparently not. At least not for my 07. I had the new version (Bluish/Green).

4 pt. brace + 07 OEM Y pipe = No go.
Rear Brace (under B pipe, furthest from pumpkin) = Barely fits, rattles at idle from hitting the pipe.

Can anyone with a Greddy EVO TT or something comparable tell me if they have been able to make this thing fit?

gt spec 4 point mid---Just barely fit with Amuse Exhaust and tanabe y pipe and lots of washers/spacers. Took it off after one week--I would scrape over every single speed bump and minor decline even at super low speeds. Sold it.

rear lower tie bar--does not clear the support bracket on my Amuse Exhaust.

To the op, when my G was on the lift, I was like, this is not even gonna clear! Then I turned it around the other way, and it bolted up, lol

Sorry to hear ur troubles.

Personally, I really have been frustrated with the GTSPEC under braces. The only brace that I think is really worth it from that company is the fender braces. But there are other/better options for that imo.

Hmmmm, as far as know, they're the only company that offers a fender brace.

it was never designed around the 07 + exhaust, which is a bit different in its fitment due to the slightly different headers/cats. It fits OEM exhaust on an 03-06

as for greddy exhaust, sorry no idea.

+1

They also make you use the factory bolts, which are too short to thread fully when using their braces. So I passed on getting a set.

** Waits for this thread to get deleted like the last one. Lol~

just bring the bolt with you to any hardware store and pick up a couple of washers and then install with the spacing
