Default Any HKS users remove the resonators?

I love the HKS, but i wish it were a tad louder. I'd prefer not to add HFC or test pipes which is why i ask this question.

soo, anyone do it? Weld in regular pipes inplace of the resonators? Does it make it sound louder? too loud?

thanks.

Wow you must really want your car to be loud huh? IMO, the HKS TD itself is loud enough even with stock cats!

As far as the mod you just mentioned... never heard of it done before. But if you do it, make sure and post some vids/pics!

i was actually thinking about doing the same thing. its loud and drones like crazy with test pipes. but i wanna see if it can make the car next to me shake from the bass it would put out.

IMO that's a bad idea. Just get some HFC's.

i agree the HKS is pretty quiet by itself (although I prefer this). I had kinetix resonated tp and the sound decibel increase quite a bit.... i also had popcharger and plenum spacer, which made the car sound pretty loud.

I had the exact same setup but had non-resonated tp and it was way to loud & had some rasp. I changed to berk HFC and couldn't be more happy.

Aftermarket cats or test pipes will make it louder, but I wouldn't recommend removing the resonators. It would probably sound like hell.

Cats or test pipes are your only viable option to make it louder.

... Or just run open headers. It'll be loud alright...

without resonators it will just drone, and it will only be louder at low rpm. Removing resnonators is an idiotic idea.
