You can't see the precious metal particles because they are so small but the white stuff is the ceramic portion of what cleans your exhaust gasses.

All that stuff starts out as a slurry that is sprayed onto the substrate, dried and fired in a kiln.
sometimes I doubt whether the aftermarket cats actually include all the precious metals. rhodium in particular is probably the most expensive metal in the world right now . one of these days i should take a sample of the cats and throw it on the energy dispersive x-ray machine (uses x-rays to do chemical identification) and see what they really put on there.

I've also developed a really awesome catalyst that can be made cheap, works for a lot of stuff and doesn't use any precious metals

So when you're putting the O2 sensors back on the HFC's do you use anything on the threads like anti-sieze compound?

You certainly can, but I would be a little cautious with it and not use too much.

The sensors are really sensitive and can easily be fouled by just about any contaminant other than exhaust fumes.

It sure is.

BTW are you getting your catalyst patented? If it can substitute the precious metals, it'll make you a millionaire (billionaire) overnight!

GOOD LUCK WITH IT!

Keep the old ones unless you can somehow verify their condition.

Install everything losely first.
Then start tightening everything down tightly starting from the cats back.

I can see the muffler is also slanted.

Remove and adjust may be the only way to fix it.
