Default Intake Fabricatation

Hey guys,

I recently made an intake for my car and thought I would share. its all 3" mandrel bend 6063 aluminum. I haven't powdercoated it yet but I think it turned out nice. Still trying to decide on the final color so its just brushed now.

I havent had it on the dyno yet to see if there is much of a power gain, but it was a fun project and sounds nice.

Looks Good, Right in the airstream behind the grill. I love the Datsun emblem. I remember the adds from back in the day. Datsun of a Gun

hahaha I was thinking about doing the same thing, nice welds btw. What were the measurements you used? Or did you just pull off the bumper and wing it?

Nice!

I've though of fabricating an intake vent that goes from the grill to the opening in the right side, but I've been too lazy.

Thanks for the compliments guys

As for measurements you would have to have a jig to build this intake off the car, the bend wrapping though the radiator crossmember into the bumper was extremely time consuming to get right.. there is literally just enough room to make it through there with a 4.5 clr bend.

^^if you put "pepsi" instead of "Datsun" it will look like the pepsi logo lol. Nice intake though and cant wait to hear the gains

I never thought about that lol...I come from Datsuns so i gotta represent, I stayed true to the oldskool colors. It was just a vinyl overlay I made for fun.. I just had it on there for a little while. When Nissan changed there name they lost all their heritage... should still be Datsun in my mind.

Looks very good... Excellent fabrication job... very nice welds as mentioned above.

What did you use for your MAF housing. Were you able to keep it 3" in size, too?

Very interesting... I wonder if it would fit a G35 Coupe...
