Default Nismo Y Pipe Flex Joint

Got my Nismo exhaust with Berk test pipes installed a few days ago.

Sounded awesome and all was good. Just yesterday though I started getting a slight noise in parts of the RPM band on accelration and the noise is amplified 10 fold when i let off the gas with back pressure.

So i took a look. It is the Nismo Y Pipe flex joints. There vibrating and making all sorts of racket on back pressure.

Their not touching anything though, just doing it themself.

Anyone heard of this before?

I was expecting an exhaust leak when i went under the car. Not this.

your flex pipes are leaking. Nismo y pipes have this problem if mated with test pipes. Do a search .

I started searching and found exactly what you just said.

Wow. 2 days.. Good job Nismo.

Since I have solid motor mounts I guess I'll just cut out the flex joints and make them solid.

i wouldnt, test pipes are weak enough even with flex pipes.

yeah, it sucks. I think people have better luck with JIC and Tanabe y pipes though but they are a bit pricey.

My engine doesn't move. I bought quality test pipes unlike most people. The flex in the exhaust is from the engine.

With solid mounts I don't see a need for flex joints. I'm not dropping another $500 on a Y Pipe for those flex joints to go bad too.

if you make replace your flex joints with a a piece of pipe, most likely the test pipes will break...and so on.
