Default catless pipes

For those of you with the new catless pipes how does the lower end power feel 1000-4000 RPM range. Can you tell if it feels like you may have (lost) or (gained) power??

I feel like the car is stronger overall. It is definitely strong at 4000+ rpm, but its tougher for me to tell if it's much stronger, if at all, at 2000. I'll let you know after my dyno though.

Hey there,
Any check engine lights with the cats removed?

Where can I get these pipes and how much were they?

Thanks.

Dan,
Are you still running a stock exhaust on your Z? I have a much higher flow custom exhaust and are worried that after installing these it might hurt low end due to almost no backpressure but you never know with a mod like this.

No check engine lights yet. You can talk to j's350z or lsdunique about buying them.

Yea I still have the stock exhaust/y-pipe so I probably don't have any low end losses. Is your exhaust setup loud? This might make it unbearable.

My Car have the Cats pipes for 500 miles and NO CEL so far, the car feels very strong in all rpm's... I have No dyno yet but I race a couple of Z's and the change is very noticeable!
I have Borla too and I can tell you if you have a aftermarket exhaust is gonna be more the improve on your car. the Z have very restrictive exhaust, you gonna see your Z getting a lot of gain in the top end (85+ Mph) with the Cat pipes and a good Exhaust (with headers... even better )

The Z's exhuast is not very restrictive. It's actually a very good performing OE exhaust. Calsonic makes pretty good products I guess. For an aftermarket exhaust to only make gains in the realm of 5-10 whp on a 300 hp car, that says volumes for the stock exhaust.

They skyline has a restrictive exhaust. An aftermarket cat-back will make something obscene like 25+ whp.

I'm not saying that Calsonic makes bad products... I said because the car have very noticeable gains on the Top end... I was 5 or more cars ahead when I race my brothers 350Z (only the resonetor remove) and keep pulling after 140 mph... this is the typical sign of restrictive exhaust.

P.S. Dyno is one thing... street race is other... I like the street race factor better!!!
