Okay, you do realize that the Z costs the same or a bit more than many family sedans made by Honda? The S2000 is even more expensive in some instances. Many of the mods for that car are also just as expensive as Z mods. Your statement really doesn't have any merit

I don't really see how anyone could call this 'rice.' The mod changes the tone to the owner's liking and it certainly isn't very loud (not as loud as my injen anyway LOL). In fact, it sounds much less ricey than many, more expensive exhaust/test pipe combos. The performance gains are negligible I'm sure, but for $150, I think this is a pretty sweet deal if you're on a budget.

I think sounds pretty good. You can't blame people for trying to save money because I'm sure not every one is made of money I will def think about this one.

hmmm.....apparently you must like to waste money then with that kind of mentality. That's like saying "i feel like steak.....but you know what? steak is a fine delicacy so i better be prepared to go buy a $50.00 filet mignon.

Yes, if i want cheap, i'll go buy a "Honda" s2k which costs more then the Z.....

Sounds good, just relized you had clips up. Too bad that one side has a visible pipe. But im sure you dont see it unless your looking at it from bending over.

My friend did this on his 300zx and it sounds amazing, not anywhere as noticeable as my full 3" exhaust. It is quiet when he wants it to be and ridiculously loud when need be. +1 for exhaust on a budget and doing something different, if YOU like it then GREAT mod for YOU!!!

I think it sounds great and I dont think there is anyway a cop is going to realize the muffler is missing. When I had my Evo several years ago I purchased a MUFFLER DELETE pipe from a performace shop so this thought is not new idea.

this is a mod you have to hear in person to enjoy... i don't think the digi cam's mic is that great. I likee the sound of the muffler removed for the short time I unbolted it.

The only thing I don't like about this mod is how you can see the exhaust piping behind the new tips that are normally hid by the massive muffler.

I've driven around sans muffler to check out the sound also, and at idle it's extremely quiet, on highway there's some drone, not much though. It does make the car sound better than stock, imo. Just because it's not Amuse doesn't mean it's a bad mod.

... and no, I don't see him getting pulled over anytime soon in FL. The civcs and harleys make this look like nothing.

well in the pic from behind i was bending down low to take the pic to show the piping but standing up normally from behind you can hardly see it especially with my car lowered..i'll take another pic later to show the difference.

Please guys, I hope you guys can finally see that the stock exhaust isnt that restrictive. The sound just gets a little bit louder. The stock exhast was designed by Calsonic!

You guys are starting at the wrong end....DONT take off the muffler. Leave it be and just get some friggin test pipes. They actually IMPROVE performance.

Im not sure why everyone is getting their panties in a roar about this. I personally dont like it, however its not my car. If the OP wants to do this, its his decision. There is nothing wrong with doing something different than the crowd, but by doing so, yes, he does stand a chance of being ticketed. Im sure he, or i hope, he thought about this before and accepted that risk.

OP, congrats on your new mod. If you like it and it makes you happy then thumbs up. Personally i wouldnt do it, but its good to see people trying new things.

it is individuals like this that give the 350Z a bad name and be lumped into the ricer category. way to go.

Calm down, Damn getting a little defensive here. Where is the love for all z enthusiasts?

Great mod btw, I don't find this to be a rice mod at all, infact I think I'm going to do this as well!
