glad to see people are still following in my footsteps haha
honestly, this is a great idea as far as i'm concerned. for minimal monetary intput, you get a phenomenal sound. believe it or not, sound is important to a lot of people, including myself. it generates part of the overall driving experience. if you're planning to keep your Z basically stock, adding a catback exhaust won't do much for power. why not do this if you're looking for a good sound? you can even make it look nice. my setup didn't look the best, but i've seen others who have done it right...even with stock tips.
i know i posted semi-flawed dyno results on my intake/muffler delete Z, but i think others have confirmed that it does not cause a decrease in power or torque. in fact, the guy i sold my car to did another dyno after adding a plenum spacer and was right on target with similarly modified cars (intake, catback, plenum spacer).
knock it if you think it's "taboo", but i say this is a generally smart move for people who don't want to modify their Z that much and want better sound. who knows? maybe it could even work better on cars making more power...

pretty much going to sound exactly like mine. if you find my original post there are videos linked. if you're completely out then i can probably email you some videos if the files are small enough. but i think they are on streetfire too. my user name might be SBT or 93V.

i have a cat delete and an aftermarket exhaust. i've only gotten pulled over once and since it looks stock he let me go. i also live in florida. no you most likely will not get pulled even if you do it looks stock so you dont have anything to worry about. i bet it sounds awesome too. when i was putting in my catback i started the car b4 i put the new one in and i almost just left it like that it sounded like a beast lol

I took my muffler of too. I love the sound! It resonates in the cabin to much right now but that should be fixed when I get the custom piping run back to some tips. I can feel a difference in power(unless it is in my head) does anyone have any before/after dyno runs ?

Good mod guys. I don't see why people have a problem with this. I've seen people blow over a grand on exhaust parts only to have their cars sound like *** with little to no performance gains to show for it. And for what? Bling factor? To have a brand name to sticker on your fender? Anyone ever notice parts for our cars are marked up beyond reason? Anyone ever think of why? It's because people buy it. No one bashes the guy making an oil catch can from home depot parts or a boost controller out of a 5 dollar valve. I say F the haters and do what works. The Z is beautiful sounding stock and a hard thing to keep it that way and these guys made it work. Keep the ideas coming guys.

I think it looks like crap but if I didnt have the money I would have bought a muffler from ebay for 30 bucks and had it put on. In the end it would have cost less than 150 and look way better than that.
