Question anybody use stock airbox summer, jwt popcharger winter?

I have an 06. I currently have on a popcharger now. it's awefully hot and humid here in florida now..is it worth my time and effort to switch to my stock 06 airbox and buy K&N drop in filter for the summer and switch back to popcharger when it gets cool? anybody change their intakes depending on the seasons?

i actually do. i run the stock box when it gets over 80 consistently and back to the stillen airbox in the fall. i used pipe insulation around the corners of the stillen box but acceleration still feels laggy when its hot while the stock setup is more consistent. Probably does not make a huge difference but just something I have noticed.

I never remove my airbox or switch filters on any of my cars depending on the weather. I actually find it kinda funny that people do it.

I use my 06 box all year w/ Amsoil Dropin. I also went the extra route of heatshielding the entire intake to help combat heat-soak even further.

Sounds like a big hassle for "sound" mods?!

imo its not worth the trouble, the difference will be minimal but if 2 hp matters to you then its a good idea.

During the summer I use the stock box w/ the popcharger and during winter I have the normal heat shield. Seems to work better that way I don't know.

I dont think it makes a big difference, but if you want to change them to see if you notice any improvement, go ahead>

I'm lazy and don't bother changing intakes. I'll clean the filter once a year though but that's as far as I go.

well i just bought a K &N drop in filter for my stock airbox and switched out from the popcharger and it does feel better SLIGHTLY around town down low due to the heat soak issue with the popcharger but not much different at all.i'll keep it on till winter time since it's so hot and humid right now..I do miss the scream of the intake at wot though. i don't mind changing it out twice a year..kind of fun to work on the car.doesn't take long either..around 30 min.
