The sickest, most pleasing exhaust tone this side of lamborgihini and ferrari.

I installed my borla yesterday (along with an oil change and irridium spark plug install). The install was beautiful. The hardest part was getting the POS stock exhaust off. The pipes went together very nicely and was adjusted for fitment and alignment in minutes. Exactly what I was expecting from borla.

I turned the car on to do a leak check and I almost messed my shorts. The sound is unbelievable. I have the cat bypass pipes installed and the two of them go together like Forrest Gump and Jenny (before she died of aids)!! Once again I definitely notice a power increase. Easing the car into 2nd gear and punching it at 4000rpm is one of my favorite things to do. With the nitrous turned on... like Strong Bad once said, "I like a to say, HOLY CRAP!"

 

Great to hear! That is the setup I will run soon. I have the Borla dual on now and will probably order some test pipes soon.

i have no means of getting a sounds clip. but i'm going to see if my buddy can bring his camera.

It's awesome though. The test pipes are from Luther (robbie) from this forum. plenty of miles and no CEL's.

 

Thanks for the info on the Borla. I had to sell my Ferrari for financial reasons, and I really miss the beautiful sound. I took the silencer off the Z exhaust, and it sounds much better, but a little raspy.

I guess I need a Borla.I usually drive with the windows down so I can hear the exhaust, but is the sound inside the car with the windows up still pretty quiet?

Let me just say... the sound with the Borla is pure bliss... the sound with the test pipes is a tad bit beyond bliss... listening ecstacy...

im not gonna go through the trouble of removing my resonator though.

 

Negative. DO NOT remove the resonator if you plan on installing test pipes. The cats act as a resonator enough to prevent raspiness with the res removed from stock. But without the cats, it does not sound good. Air hitting nothing but the muffler baffles makes the sound we are all trying to avoid, the rice fart cannon sound.

At idle (borla and test pipes) the car is a kitten. You can barely hear it. just about idle, 1500 - 3000 is like a perfectly eq'd subwoofer setting off the soft touch sensor of any nearby car alarm. above 3000 at WOT it has a very italian V12 sound. But it's still not obnouxiously loud. I was still able to hear some kids on a corner yell DAMMNN!! as i drove by courtesy of the doppler effect.

I'll be running this setup as well as soon as my borla dual's come in the mail ! Thanks for the heads up on the sound man, I can't wait to have my car sounden like urs! Enjoy that bad *** exhaust!

exhaust has moved up on my list of mods to do because of the test pipes, but i have yet to see titanium exhaust for the G35c. im too cheap to get an extender.
