Default Hfc-->ur, Crawford, Or Aam

OK I NARROWED IT DOWN TO THESE 3 (UR, CRAWFORD, OR AAM) hfc... actually 2 jes the UR hfc and AAM hfc.... i heard good reviews of UR and crawford but nothing for AAM... i like the light weight for AAM.... how does it sound??, perform...??? and weight difference with the other 2...i don't like rasp... i'm completing my exhaust set up with one of this HFC... so far i am patiently awaiting for the amuse TI and JIC Y pipe to arrive.. and i jes need HFC to complete the back flow...

i tried to research AAM but found lil information... anybody with experience..?? thanks in advanced

BTW this is for 2006 rev up

My vote is for Ultimate Racing. They are very light and my personal experience is a fantastic improvement.

I have AAM HFCs with my HKS Hi Power Ti true duals...I love them. no rasp, but definitely livened up the exhaust note quite a bit...

UR offers both ceramic and metal substrate versions. Metal ones flow a bit better (very close to test pipes), but are a bit louder. We recomend these for all out NA, or for forced induction. The ceramic ones are mellower sounding, and while they flow significantly better than stock, they don't flow quite as much as the metal substrate units. These are a great choice for a street car where you don't want a ton of noise, but you're looking for improved mid and top end response.

I can check weights for you shortly if you like

I'm running the AAM 2.5 metallic HFC, AAM y pipe and AAM single exit exhaust on my 06 rev up vortech. The sound is great and the performance is definitely there. The fitment was good according to my installers. +1 AAM. I do not have experience with the others.

The Ultimate Racing ceramic cats weight 11 lbs for the pair, and the metal substrate ones weigh 9 lbs for the pair

i really don't want any rasp or drone... just some nice clean sound that can amplify the tone of the amuse titan... and ofcourse give some extra hp and a lil weight reduction...=0) all that lose lbs will all add up somehow anyway..

rasp is as much a function of exhaust design as it is the cat/test pipe

if you want to keep rasp to a minimum, I'd get the ceramic cats

correct, test pipes, even "resonated" ones, are still louder and more prone to rasp vs the metal cats

As far as the hiss, it's a function of engine design - test pipes do it unavoidably. Cats are less prone to it
