anyone use the 3" magnaflow catback?
I liked the sound of it on the official magnaflow site, but I don't know how trustworthy that is or if they covered up any rasp/drone sounds. if you have it, are you happy with it? I am not looking for something outrageously loud, I just want something similar to the stock tone, that's a bit louder and aggressive.
I believe the part # for it is 16784.
I'm already checking with some of the local forum sponsors but.. what's the best deal you guys can find it for? I am not seeing a whole lot of them available, the 2.5" system is very affordable so I'm hoping this isn't more then a couple hundred higher.

I've listened to a few clips of this system on a Z. Personally, the exhaust note sounds really good, but for some reason I see few people that have this exhaust. I've also heard that it creates drone in the cabin. Out of those two reasons, that's why I haven't picked one up.

a few clips? I've found two, one on the magnaflow website, and one on youtube from magnaflow while they did the dyno on a 07 nismo Z.
any others you could link?
I like the deep, non obnoxious tone - and I loved the sound my magnaflow setup made for my accord.. hoping this is the one.

appreciate the help mang but that is a different model number, - this one is newer and a bit more expensive.
I am looking at the magnaflow 16784 - that is the 15765 (which I could get for 480$ shipped vs 715$ shipped for the 16784.. still both are cheap!)
easiest way to identify it is the older model looks like stock exhaust and this one splits without the bulky muffler:

I am torn though, I am really partial to the burnt tip look .. what would your guys pick be for an exhaust under 700 - with the goal of a deep tone that isn't too loud, just louder then stock, no rasp/drone

I own the Nismo Z that is on the dyno on Magnaflow's website. Prior to owning the Magnaflow exhaust, I had a Turbo XS cat-back. I liked the Turbo XS exhaust a lot, but it was a bit too much much for me. It was just a little too raspy and aggressive for my taste. Magnaflow then used my car to test fit the exhaust system on a Nismo and I got to keep it. I was honestly surprised by this system. It's a bit more aggressive than stock, but your neighbors won't hate you. There is no rasp at all, its sounds very clean.
According to Magnaflow, the 3' system lost up to 10hp till about 4500 rpm compared to the Turbo XS exhaust . After 4500 rpm, the magnaflow exhaust gained 10hp over the Turbo XS.
The car definetly drives differently now. You can feel the loss of power down low, but it makes up for it in high end power. The engine also revs a lot quicker now too.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

that's really cool black - you have a very nice car
the loss of low end power kind of concerns me, I've always been an off the line kind of guy, but it doesn't take long to reach high rpms..
but that is in comparison to the turbo XS exhaust. do you think I would notice a loss of power compared to stock at the lower rpms?
I can't really find another system I've been interested in sound wise yet, so this is most likely the one.

Thanks for the compliment.
I would think the loss of low end power would probably be more pronounced compared to stock... but its not like you have a low displacement honda where there is almost no low end power. I think you will like the exhaust, and you will definetly feel the power up top.
