Y pipe rattle HELP
Hi , my car mods are as follows , test pipes and a Ypipe-back exhaust.
I got the exhaust first, and then the test pipes. After I installed the test pipes theres a rattle coming from the stock ypipe at the section where the two pipes become one. You can hear it the loudest as the RPMS get to 2500 - 3k when hitting the gas and as the rpms come back down through that range when letting off the gas.
I removed the heat shield and still got the rattle noise. I read somewhere (NICO club) that its due to the flex sections on the stock y pipe. It said that if I got an aftermarket y pipe that the problem would be resolved. However it didnt go into detail if I needed to get an aftermarket Ypipe with no flex sections or just any aftermarket y pipe would get rid of the rattle.
Anyone here know if any of the above is true? I have an 07 Z btw. Much thanks to whoever can tell me how to get rid of this rattle while keeping my test pipes.
