In my opinion both the Injen and AEM are very good.

Installed Injen yesterday. Went together extremely easy including the heat shield. If you can find someone who has installed one on their "Z" and will help you with yours, the install goes easy. Love the sound and performance. Go Injen!

How about a $40 K&N panel filter and take the silencer out of the front intake of the air box. You get better flow, the box pulls air from outside the engine bay already, and you get the unsilenced CAI sound. Don't blow $250+ on an intake when the stock one is more than enough for our power levels. When the stock intake is not good enough for your car you will be pushing 350 plus HP. FI comes with their own intake setup.

agreed..I installed my Crawford plenum and was going to put the injen on...then I notice that theres a rubber hood seal that effectively turnd the entire fron of the
nose /bumber cover into a large ram scoop that is in front of any engine heat. with the KN replacement filter..you basically have 'a 'real ram air system'. then crawford tells us that they ran a pressure probe up into the intake and theres a +
atmosphere goping on..so i think that replacing the stock setup with a CAI might LOOK cool, but may actually be counter-productive...I am keeping my stock setup, but may wrap an insulating blanket around the intake tube to deflect engine heat.

I am sure that CAI work good for other cars with no real intake set up..but we have one already....if you REALLY wanted to do it right you'd get one of those Stillen 'Nostril' fascias and keep the stock air box. Add the larger capacity plenum...that would work better than anything.

I have an Injen CAI and love it. AEM was my second choice.

I have a Injen Red color kit. Had no problems out of it. The hardest thing you will have to deal with is that damn heatshield. But other than that. Its all coooollllll.

I just put my Injen Cold Air on. Install was easy enough. The heat shield only took 10 minutes, so I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Basically it's just an intake so either AEM or Injen will work, but I like the deisgn of Injen better because of the colder air hitting the filter.

Question

Ok, I'll ask a silly question. I am looking at getting the Ingen CAI, but am not sure of the bennefit. Also, what is this "Plenum" that I hear mentioned? I;ll admit it... I'm a newbie to all this as I just got my Z a week and a half ago.
