Default Kinetix plastic plenum

Threads discussing the plenum are about 4 years old. Has anyone bought one recently? I'm talking about the black plastic plenum that is warrantied up to 15psi - I know there were issues with the older ones, but I'd like anyone's input on the more recent version regarding finish, reliability and potential customer service issues.

At $300 I might go for it rather than the motordyne spacer due to the look of it more than anything, but only if there are some generally positive responses.

Thanks
G

Maybe just get an APS Tallboy? Or Crawford v5? Those are proven... MD, AAM, and PE spacers are proven too.

I am on a budget and need one that keeps the stock strut brace. Thanks for the suggestions though!

5/16 motordyne w/ iso-thermal gasket will do good for ya and you will keep your stock strut

I've had one on my car for over a year now, no problems. I would buy another if i was in the market.

The Kinetix plastic plenum got its butt kicked in the Plenum vs Plenum Spacer Shoot-out. Is the new Kinetix a radical improvement over the old one? Don't know. Why risk it?

stick to a spacer then, they work great, low key, simple install, retains the strut brace

Do you have a link to that? The Kinetix site quotes some very high figures for gains with their new (don't know how new) plenum - figures I'm quite skeptical of!

I am attracted to the plenum rather than a spacer because I like the look of it, it saves weight, is more resistant to heat soak and personally, I can't see how an aluminum spacer can cost $200+ . I'm also hoping to the FI route at some point - I just can't bear to have a Nissan that doesn't have a turbo....
