Definately not a common intake for the Z. Have you tried searching on AFE?

my friend has a bmw 328i and its rated at 230hp and ___ tq and he also bought an Afe intake that was rated as 50hp+ and 100tq+ how believe able that is, im not sure but he is able to keep up with me on the while 1/4 mile now. as before where i would beat him with ease.
Do the math....what do you think?
If either of you install that intake, and I highly recommend you don't, it won't make a difference. If you want noticible gains on your Z, you need to do more than a simple intake.

My advise to you is to take advantage of all the sections here on the site. Once you find some parts that other members have, search on those parts to turn up reviews and other information.
It takes time to build the car you invision. Just make sure you do it with quality parts. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Good luck!

Read this thread and if you still feel you should buy one then go ahead.
And from a former afe employee who started the original afe thread:

Hey guys just thought I would let you know this. I recentley came back on this forum due in part to the consideration of purchasing a 08 350z. I was shocked to see this post on the G35 and had to post this.
I was the one that originally posted the famous Nissan 350Z AFe intake thread (https://my350z.com/forum/showthre...&highlight=afe) I dont own a 350Z I never did. I worked for Advanced Flow Engineering (AFE) from 2004 untill a few months ago. I worked in their marketing dept. The reason behind all these outrageous claims is simple. Free Advertising and Website Rankings. The owner of AFE is obssed with alexa.com (for those not familiar it is a website that tracks websites based on how many vists they get)
Well the owner has a personal vendetta against K&N (he and few other afe employes there used to work for K&N) As we all know K&N is the most recognized air filter company in the world and he wants to be bigger than them. He used to get mad when he would see K&N in the top 30,000 websites and AFE was in the 110,000 ranking. So he went on a all out marketing assault, problem is he didnt want to pay for advertising (he thinks it dosent work). We were told to use the forums as a way to spread the word without having to pay as a sponsored vendor. They described it as "Guerilla Marketing"
As I expected people were skeptical of our claims, MY350 (We all know what happend here) the Mustang forum (Got banned for illegal advertsing) the Subaru forum (claiming 17+ on a STi)and the BMW forum (claiming 42hp on a 325). AFe even went far as to have other AFe employees register on forums and lie and back up AFe claims. The lowest was when a former AFe employee posted actual dyno numbers on his car (his car was used for intake testing and development) after he posted the actual results along with proof his vehicle was used for R&D. AFe went on the offensive and started to attack his charecter and reasons why he was fired. The entire time beating around the bush and responsding to the doctored results.
Well AFe got called out on their outrageous claims we then sold some intakes to a few skeptics, and in all cases failed to acheive the claimed hp results during independednt testing (AFe was present at all independednt testing to verify there would be no sabatoge).
We then suggested to the AFe engineering dept that all dyno claims be retested for more accurate numbers (To this date the dyno numbers claimed by Afe have not been changed) They said NO stating that re-testing would use up valuable resources and time.
Well AFE got what they wanted their website ranking never beat K&N but they came close. But after many false claims and alot of negative publicity on the forums the hype faded away and many wrote them off as liars.
As we all know there is no way an intake can make 20+ hp on a stock vehicle it just wont happen. I apologize for my unethical practices. Thank god I am longer a corporate puppet. Next time I post it will be worth something.

I did a back to back test of AFE along time ago when they sponsored a intake for me. It is a great unit and very well built. it did have gains but you will never know till the ECU gets fully aware of the change in flow. If I was in the market for NA mods this would definetly be on my new car

I waisted my whole 20 mins of my life reading that lock thread about afe. 30 pages off bla bla bull chit for 4 hp. Hoods are open on dynos, has minimal heat soak. Try closing the hood and dynoing it see what happens. -hp I bet
