given the price, why not go with what's shown to work, either an Injen/NISMO or just a pop charger?

Their claims were bogus and it was totally discredited here in a couple tests. Here's a little light reading on the matter:

I am considering it because of the extra filter, cleaning kit, and other freebies.

I went to the aFe website (www.afefilters.com) read about them. Seems like a they have a good rep with BMW's. What do you have in your Z?

350ZWNDR:

I see that they dropped the price, AFE was originally asking over $500 for the CAI. Even at $385 and a lot of extras, it's not worth it.

I use the stock air box. None of the CAI make huge HP gains as the stock box is pretty efficient. I think most claim around +5hp.

Actually, it was the claims about the BMWs that raised the red flag here.

maybe a lil more than the 5 hp...but the CAI still gives good looks and a great sound as well... i think its a pretty good mod for N/A

True - it's like an exhaust. Do it for looks or sound, not for the HP gains because there's not a lot of that for the money you spend.

If you look at the top of this forum's listings on the right side, you see a link "Search this forum". Use it and you'll only see results from the Intake/Exhaust forum. There are thousands on each brand. The more important ones are probably those will lots of replies and lots of views.
